PYP Coordinator

Choithram International needs no introduction with its overpowering presence as the only IB school in the city of Indore The smart green school campus at CI is reflective of the institution's new way of thinking and educating students. It is an honour and privilege to be the PYP Coordinator of Choithram International, the school that focuses on the overall development of students and challenges them to take responsibility for their learning. We are excited to offer the Primary Years Programme which is a stepping stone to the entire stream of International education, culminating into the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme.

 

The PYP Curriculum is a framework for students aged 3 to 12 and is a wonderful framework, which allows students to take ownership of their learning by building 21st Century skills. It also allows flexibility of teaching and learning transactions within and outside the classrooms. IB PYP places a lot of importance on developing the IB learner profile and attributes that are extremely important for building a strong personality. The aspirational qualities of the learner profile are embedded into the classroom environment which promotes personal, emotional, intellectual and social growth of the learners. Following the IB’s approach to learning and teaching, we emphasize on voice, choice, and ownership, guided and purposeful inquiry and conceptual and student- centered curriculum drawing on transdisciplinary themes and issues. The programme not only actively engages students in the inquiry process but also promotes eagerness for lifelong learning. The PYP aims at using authentic opportunities to enhance a student’s understanding by enabling connected, individualized, and meaningful learning experiences. Our team at CI, provides an affectionate and nurturing environment where learners feel happy and secure to develop their full potential. Most importantly, we encourage our facilitators to place focus on social- emotional support strategies in response to the inquiries of students so as to make a positive difference and bring out positive change through student action. MYPC

 

Middle Years Programme at Choithram International is the nurturing ground for young learners which enables them to kindle their passion for learning, exploration and creation, simultaneously developing an empathetic approach in them. IB MYP provides scope for a holistic development of students and we, at CI take care that all possible support and guidance is provided to our students so as to ensure that they develop an understanding of real life situations and creatively contribute to develop a world grounded in ethical values. The curricular and co curricular engagements, Service projects, alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, cultural exchange programmes and other multiple events and activities open up doors to a plethora of opportunities which instigate the critical and creative thinking in the young learners, guiding them to forge ahead with their exploratory journey. The focus on 21st century skills and development of diversified attributes guide the learners to expand their wings to embrace global change.

 

The Programme concretizes the learning experiences for students which help them in pursuing Diploma Programme or the other academic pursuit.

 

We strive to provide all our students the best possible learning experiences which would be the guiding force for them in years to come and look forward to an enriching and accomplishing journey of our students in the Middle Years programme at Choithram International.

The Diploma Programme at Choithram International provides opportunities for intellectual and social growth, and also inculcates in students a sense of empathy and concern for others. The two-year program undoubtedly transforms students into strong, determined and confident learners ready to tackle the ever-changing world. The programme is intended for students who like learning, exploring, and being challenged, and in return students acquire time management, work ethics and most significantly, critical thinking. The IBDP Curriculum is rigorous, challenging and demanding, and it is crucial that each individual needs to maintain a positive attitude at all times.

 

Teachers at CI IBDP carefully and methodically encourage, mentor, and support students throughout the course of their two-year curriculum until they are placed on the appropriate professional tracks.

 

In addition to improving students' academic achievement, CI's social-emotional approach also fosters wellbeing and development of students as individuals. According to the CI ethos, students' honesty, empathy and sense of cooperation are as important as their academic accomplishments in defining success.

 

As the IB Diploma Programme coordinator, I express my joy and enthusiasm for having been given the chance to supervise such outstanding and exceptionally motivated IB students. As a professional learning community, we are committed to working tirelessly to provide challenging educational opportunities for children each day.

 

Our goal is to provide a secure, peaceful and academically demanding environment for our learners. We are continuously striving to meet all of our children's educational needs through collaborative efforts and a desire to bring out the best in each of them.

 

With the support of all our stakeholders, I firmly believe that education is a shared responsibility between committed teachers, motivated students and responsible parents. Together we can and will make Choithram International a great place for learning and growth.
